This is a quick-reference guide for wheel and tire combos on the 2023+ Toyota GR Corolla (GZEA14). The GR Corolla features a rally-derived GR-FOUR AWD system, reinforced GA-C platform with 349 additional spot welds, and turbocharged G16E-GTS three-cylinder producing 300 hp (304 hp Morizo). The platform rewards precise wheel and tire selection to maximize the chassis’s capabilities.
For detailed wheel fitment information including brake clearance and the factory rear spacer, see the GZEA14 GR Corolla Wheel Guide. For tire diameter tolerance and load rating details, see the GZEA14 GR Corolla Tire Guide.

Popular Proven Setups
Daily Driver / OEM+
18x8.5” +20 to +25 with 245/40R18 - Direct bolt-on with additional track width. Fills the widebody fenders slightly better than stock while preserving factory geometry. Works with stock suspension, no modifications required.
17x8.5” +20 to +25 with 235/45R17 - Winter and gravel setup on brake-clearance verified wheels. Taller sidewall absorbs impacts, protects wheels from potholes. See GR Corolla tire guide for more winter recommendations.
Aggressive Street / Flush
18x9.5” +22 to +30 with 265/35R18 - The “flush” street setup. Fills the widebody fenders perfectly with the wheel lip sitting near-flush with the fender edge. Clears at stock ride height. When lowered, additional rear camber adjustment (-1.5° to -2.0°) recommended to prevent fender lip contact.
18x9.5” +30 to +38 with 255/35R18 - Inboard-friendly offset range. May require front spacers to clear strut at higher offsets. Good balance of improved track width and easy fender clearance. May require slight rear camber adjustment (-1.5°) when lowered.
Track / Competition
18x10” +38 to +42 with 275/35R18 - Serious track width for grip-focused builds. The high offset is necessary to keep the wheel under the fender while pushing into the strut zone. Requires coilovers with slim spring profiles and adjustable camber plates. Front liner trimming needed.
18x10.5” +42 to +45 with 275/35R18 or 285/30R18 - Maximum contact patch for performance applications. Requires coilovers, camber plates (front -3.0° or more), rear fender rolling.
Main OEM Considerations
Lug Nuts and Hardware: OEM Toyota wheels use flat-seat (mag style) lug nuts. Aftermarket wheels require 60-degree conical seat lugs (M12x1.5). Using the wrong seat type will result in wheel detachment. For thick-pad wheels or spacer setups, ARP extended studs are recommended to ensure minimum 8 full thread turns (12mm engagement).
Hub Centric Rings: The 60.1mm center bore requires hub-centric rings for 73.1mm aftermarket wheels. Aluminum rings recommended for track use—plastic can deform from brake heat.
The 10mm Rear Spacer: There is a factory installed 10mm slip-on spacer on the rear axle. This makes the effective rear offset +20mm. If running aftermarket wheels without the spacer, the wheel sits 10mm further inboard, narrowing the rear track.
17” Brake Clearance: The 356mm front rotors prevent most 17” wheels from fitting. Only motorsport-specific wheels with high-clearance barrel profiles work. Verified: Apex SM-10RS 17x8.5 +23, select Enkei RC-T5, select Rays TE37 Saga. Do not purchase 17” wheels without verifying brake clearance.
TPMS: The GR Corolla uses 315MHz TPMS sensors. The ECU stores two sets of sensor IDs for summer/winter wheel swaps. New sensors require OBDII programming with a TPMS tool.
Load Ratings: Always select XL (Extra Load) tires with load index 95 or higher. Standard Load tires risk sidewall rollover under the GR Corolla’s aggressive cornering forces.
